Well Happy Belated Winter Season – say what? Yes Dec 1st was the first official day of Meteorological Winter even though it was 51* and well okay outside.
Lest take a look back at the November to Remember (AKA NOVIE):
There was unprecedented warmth first half (endless summer) and below normal temperature with 3 consecutive days of white gold gracing us with its presence before Turkey Day. I made the call that we would have a white Thanksgiving possibly and well for the most part we did but just not in many of our backyards you had to go a good 40 miles away from NYC. But we had a good number of rain events that helped with our pressing drought needs in this region. Wetness is good as we move forward.

December to Remember??
Well of course it is last year was because it was more like late spring that early winter!! Not this year peeps oh no sir and I am sorry if you like warmth but go to the Tropics cause you abut (think Canadian and how they say this word about!) to get slapped upside the head with the arctic front that is going to make its way into your territory this upcoming week – Madonne worthy in my book! I ain’t hyping it but for earl/mid December it is going to be impressive cold with the chances of white gold – YIPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! I know Snow Queen will be doing her dance if this comes to fruition between the 8th and 26th time frame, maybe sooner. Last time we had a good December – 2009.
Here is a theory I have learned from the great Joe Bastardi whom I follow and the guys at Wx Bell (pay $25 a month to get their inside info yes I know but I am a weenie!!) – BATH TUB SLOSH THEORY!!
Say what Al Q?? Yes remember the good ol days when we were little tites and Mom would give us a bath? Well it is theory that when you slosh the water in the bathtub the water will go one way hit the outer frame of the tub and then slosh back the other way. Well, peeps guess what this theory is about to become a law cause all the cold in Siberia in November – remember my post about this – is going to slosh its way to this side of the globe – 6-8 weeks later since it entered and caused a true NOVEMBER TO REMEMBER over there and Europe for that matter.

This is really gaining my interest cause these little sneaky storms are going to do this this winter – pop up like that game at the arcade were you try to hit the alligator or groundhog?

We can see mood flakes to a light coating all the way down to the coast – maybe a few inches in the LHV – Marky Mark I told you this via text before Turkey Day get the plows ready my man, and maybe a bit more if we get better lift in the system.

This could bring our first real accumulating snow to the NYC Metro area as a storm slides out of the middle Rockies and tries to swing to our west – IF SO WE RAIN if not and it slides to our South then oh momma we see our first true snowstorm – hmmmmmm – ala 93-94 peeps remember this is so well – first year working at the great Highlands where I presently work today – and yes it is a great educational institution.

Arctic front moves through and can produce some snow squalls

White xmass?? This and possibly the coldest xmass since 1980 my freinds – models saying a lobe from teh PV breaks off and settles in over the Great Lakes – IF this does happen – don’t think it will then watch out!
