We’ll we have another winter storm heading our way. A few days ago some mets were calling for upper 40’s and rain and now snow and ice mix to an all out snowstorm for parts of NNJ, NW NJ, LHV and the HV!!
A pro met of the NJ Strong Weather Forum has put out this map!
WHY is this happening? Because we have a 6-10″ snowpack on teh ground and storm such as this will not cut way west as once noted by models. They come to the snow and teh surface is cold with the snowpack – it is a cycle if you will.
Thursday time frame for another storm still there – EURO showed a bomb yesterday now has backed off as have otehr models but they tend to do this with major storms in what we call teh medium range.
