Happy last day of November. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday and thanks for all that you have. I am thankful for many things in my life, and one is this blog site to share thoughts and information of a passion of mine – weather.
Now Meteorological winter starts tomorrow and Tuesday it will feel like it for many in NNJ, Orange, Rockland, and Putnam Counties. We have a coastal storm system that will slide to our south and bring in snow, mix precipitation and rain. What looked like a serious snowstorm for most of NNJ as late as noon today has slowly eroded but it does not diminish the fact that it is going to snow and have wintry precipitation for many on Dec 2nd. Now places like NW NJ, PB, Magretto, Snow Queen of Orange Cty (B Smith that’s you), Guerci land all has a winter storm watch in effect for 5-8″ of snow.
Tuesday
START TIME: 7-9AMish
End Time: 5-7PMish
SNOWFALL:
NNJ – Bergen Passaic County I 80 and GSP North 1-3″,
NW Bergen County 2-3″
NW Passaic County 3-6″
Rockland County 1-4″ further North, highest totals like Stoney Point
Warren, Sussex, Orange & Putnam Counties 4-8″
CNJ, SNJ, NYC, LI – All Rain and about 1″-1.5″
I could see schools in the all snow counties (Warren, Sussex, Orange & Putnam Counties) closing.
Nex storm timeforame Dec 5-6th and 8-10th. It is going to be a very active pattern with cold and wintry storms throughout the next few weeks leading up to Christmas.
Dec 6th
Any snow is good snow and it is a bonmus this early in the game.
