Peeps,

B Call

The storm came in fast than called by most as I harped on and here in Hillsdale NE NJ started snowing at 12:50. We measured 3.0 here – my original call of 3-5″ was good – on the low end of the range. It was beautiful scene and it was a weekend so not much to worry about.

So here was my call if you dare to care – ANYONE????

Lynch Report: from the latest guidance

Timing: Saturday around 1-2PM until about 7pmish (BINGO!!)

(Change this to about 8/9PM ish for Areas 15 -20 miles outside the heat engine of NYC Metro)

Precipitation: Snow to mix (sleet) (BINGO)

Snowfall Amounts:

NY City Metro – 1-3″ (Hold) (BINGO DEUCE)

N & W of Interstate 80 – 3-5″ (More like 4-6″ now) (SLIGHT BINGO)

LHV – 3-5″ (4-5″ IN ORANGE, NORTHERN ROCKLAND AND NORTHER WESTCHESTER) (Hold and may just may be able to pop a sixer in these place) (MISSED!!)

SO overall on the scale I woudl give myself a……. B

Frigid Smigid,

The frigid air once forecasted for days has no gone poof due to the PACIFIC which has pushed the systems that would be responsible lets say out of the way. So we have cold morning and mild afternoons – more March like than January. has to do with the “Walker Cell” in teh pacific ocean that is causing this and the Indian Ocean Dipole affect. Hate to say it but there really isnt much arctic cold air after this week.

Weekend Rule

After a torch period tehre is the weekend rule which is that most major storms will o cur on weekend after a torch. This overall has some truth if we look at history.

Well there is another storm that isnt the most ideal set up but with a little AL Q magic we can get it to snow despite what the TV mets are saying.

When: Saturday/Sunday time frame

Precipitation: Inland 30 miles plus snow, 15-30 miles – rain to snow, NYC Metro rain to mix

Call it Interstate 80 or Route 80 North type of storm

How much? could be a coating for the city to a foot for areas inland 30 miles or more!!

CRAY CRAY IF IT WERE TO HAPPEN for some – snowfall amounts – DO NOT TAKE THIS VERBATIM

And Al Gore will say its cause of you….

Flurries were witnessed in the North Bahamas!!!

Excerpt:

On January 19th, 1977, snow fell in South Florida for the first time in recorded history.
Residents and visitors were both surprised and thrilled at the rare phenomena, and local
newspapers ran headlines which were nearly as big as it would be for major national or
world events. News of President Jimmy Carter’s inauguration was pushed out of the headlines. Snow was seen across all of Southeast Florida as far south as Homestead and even on Miami Beach. Snow was officially reported by weather observers in West Palm Beach, LaBelle, Hollywood, and Royal Palm Ranger Station in deep South Miami-Dade County. Reports of snow mixed with rain were even received from the Bahamas in Freeport on the other side of the Gulf Stream from Southeast Florida.

Have a great night.

Update to come.
