Peeps,

Happy Meteorological Winter today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This the best season of the year next to Summer of course. It runs until March 1st.

And what a way to ring in this winter day  with a snow storm well a Winter storm that will evolve into what could be a serious snowstorm and possibly historic for some.

These type of storms are fickle and hard to predict as our best and most advanced tools – computers that have been programmed with special algebraic and physics algorithms have some many data sets to computerate that the slightest miscalculation will and can have small to big effects. Okay enough of that and onto the appetizer before teh big show.

I hope ya’ll heeded the AL Q warning of this storm and got your chillin’s back to college and yeselves home cause the roads are starting to deteriorate condition wise with slick, icy patches and stretches from EPA to NE NJ. In teh Poconos of EPA Rts 78, 80, 380, 84 have dozens of accidents some pile ups are 20 plus cars as reported by my man Mikey Pizano in the Strousburg, PA region – I have spotters all over peeps!!!

I am like a this guy :

I reach very far with my contacts!

Ice Ice Baby

Today we will see about a .10″ of ice accretion with freezing rain, drizzle adn sleet mixed with snow taking over the area today and then transitioning to all snow giving some in NNJ about 1-2″ possible.

Sleet Today

Freezing Rain

And just like that its snowing here in NE NJ.

My call yesterday:

Time: Starting around 8-10AM in NNJ/NW NJ/LHV lasting until ….Late Monday night possibly EARLY AM TUESDAY (check started sleeting here in NE NJ at around 8:30 BOOM!)

Precipitation:

Ice and snow to start with rain mixing in and the possibly changing to rain for a brief time period then the real show begins earl AM Monday as we transition from rain back to snow.

(HOLD = it is coming to fruition)

NYC Metro into CNJ – 2-4″ less south and more North (HOLD)

Cuz Laura about 3″ Kuz about 3″ Mimtser about 2″

Areas North of Interstate 80

5-10″” range possibly 12″ (Oakland, Wanaque, Ringwood, Kinnelon area) (HOLD)

ICE ACCRETION ABOUT .10″ – .15″

Areas North of I 84 and NW NJ – PB, Mary, Britt

8 -14″ – possible up to 18 as you get further North” (HOLD)

Winds 10-15 mph with gusts to 25 mph as the low cranks

Front end snow is over performing than what teh models were showing at this time yesterday.

I stand by my call and the schools in NNJ are going to have a hell of time making teh call for tomorrow and possibly Tuesday as well.

Latest models show it snowing until 4-6AM in the NNJ and Coastal NJ region.

Now, an FYI, IF and I mean this does happen with these storms, IF it ticks, jogs 20-25 miles for SE or even 15 miles SE or even East then the snow accumulations will shift in the direction the storm center moves. That could mean a foot for some if it shifts E or SE or 4″ if it stays the course.

Update tonight.
