As I have been texted my inner circle of family and friends about Ian that he would be a major and that landfall will be anywhere between Naples and Tamps/Ft Myers Fla. I said this on Saturday. The models seem tobe honing in on that region and sadly it looks to be Venice Beach, exactly where Aunt Titi’s place is.
A 954 MB is a Category 3 hurricane and I NEVER bought the GFS and its landfall up in the panhandle region, never. WHY? The trough that is giong to set up over us in the NE has everything to do and Fiona’s latent heat release and she wrecked the Canadian Maritimes, that;’s of another write up, she helped set the table for this storm’s path. Heck he may traverse the Fla Peninsula and come out on the Atlantic Side and ride the coast or take a bit of an inland route up to the mid Atlantic. The trough is the key player – how deep it gets and strong it is and how fast it exists all play a major role on where he goes into Fl and after this. Scary scenario setting up for sure.
