After I put out my post yesterday at 3:20 my boys at National Weather Service in New York said you’re right and hosted Winter Storm Watch advisories now we are in Winter Storm Warnings And edging closer to possibly BLIZZARD WARNINGS for some parts of the area – yeah no kidding- this shit is going to get real and I warned you yesterday. If you doubt then you will pout (I don’t know it rhymes so why not?)
Skinny:
There maybe a sleet/ice storm, later today and overnight in SNJ through CNJ and we’ll see how far North this can get – it may surprise but the air is so dry it may get stuck somewhere around the Driscoll Bridge in NJ – if you don’t know this bridge in NJ then you aint a Jerseyan sorry, no geography lesson here look it up.
Timing: Starting around 2-4AMish from South to North
Heaviest worst – from mid/late morning through 10-12PM – Blizzard conditions for the ENTIRE AREA!
SNOWFALL TOTALS: 10″-18/22″ for the entire area
Ending: 2-4 AM in NNJ and NYC Metro
WINDS: 20-40mph /45-50mph gusts
Moderate to Major Coastal Flooding for two high tides possible.
POWER – OUTAGES WILL BE WIDESPREAD AGAIN!!!
I JUST SPOKE WITH GOODMAN FROM NWS – DON’T ASK I HAVE LOTS OF HOOKS!
BLIZZARD WARNINGS WILL BE HOISTED FOR LI AND COASTAL NJ AS WELL AS NYC METRO in their afternoon update IF they see the EURO MODEL – (YEAH B BACH THAT”S RIGHT) comes in line with other models.
WHY it just came in closer to the coast by about 25-35 miles!
This is an ominous sign of what is happening in the SE today – all this latent heat will be transported up this way and these dynamics create very heavy bands of snow and winds
