I can not express to you how this will be a major storm for the entire NYC Metropolitan region including all of LI, the southern shores of CT, the entire Jersey shore and Delaware shores. Our storm will deepen quickly and is already showing sign of this today as it is forming an eye and may have some sub tropical characteristics. The European Model has been all over this for days and those who were wishing the GSF would be right, well better luck next time.
We have a day and a half plus of storm effects – winds, rains, flooding. Those near water on the shore 0r ocean, bays, rivers, inlets, lagoons all need to take all necessary precautions and even evacuate or have a plan ready just in case. Yes it is going to be bad. Do not poo poo this storm for it has been piling up water for a full day and you have two more to go through. This is the price of living near the ocean especially on a barrier island.
Moderate flooding has already commenced at thigh tides all along the shores today.

Here is a satellite image of this beast – looks like a tropical cyclone no? You see the center swirl and eye forming? That is indicative of a strong storm.

Tips:

Like I said it is going to be an active Fall – Rocktober is going to do just that peeps – ROCK!!!
