No white xmas in the cards but first of all Happy winter everyone!! It will not feel like winter these next 7 days with warmth and wetness. Xmas should be about 50 degrees and dry for us here in NNJ but Tuesday through Wed will be warm and wet – YUCK!!! December will go on as the warmest December in history dating back to the Mesozoic era – only kidding but since 1877 – WOW!! Enjoy it peeps is all I have to say at this time and IT IS NOT DUE TO EL NINO!! This is so False it is because the Indian Ocean (and Polar Vortex) is in what is called phase 4,5 and 6 of the MJO index – not Austin Powers MJO either here. Long of the short it caused major changes downstream as it is called and set the warm episode in motion.  The PV was so tight and consolidated it did not release any cold air, hence the warmth from the Mississippi on east.

Enough of that Global Warming bs stuff above – let’s not start this topic of contention okay?

Now to the season we all have been waiting for right?? I have so that is what counts as have many of my weather weenie disciples.

Polar Vortex Update:

Remember I said we need Thor to help break this well well well the big heeded the call and he along with his other  Avenger mates are hammering away at this evil vortex to help bring us winter. Peeps the maps are showing a split or this breaking come early/mid January and then we start to rock n roll – ohhh and this is what I said in my winter outlook – go take a look if you do not remember.

The evolution of the pattern is taking shape peeps and we go the first week of Jan to a more seasonable pattern with some Alberta Clippers in the latter part of the week possible, temps return to normal and we get into the winter pattern. On course for a good to great winter from mid  January to early March.
