Henri slipped East
Folks, Henri was slated to make landfall over C to Eastern LI region and he hit far eastern LI with official EYE landfall in RI. Why no updates you are wondering? Wi-Fi issues and away upstate in Guerci land where the preparations are beginning for winter …. already!!
Henri was weaker and never strengthened as all model were predicting which helped keep him more east but we had 4.75” of rain last Sunday, wind gusted to 27mph nowhere near tropical force for sure and no power problems THANK GOD!
Meteorologically speaking his surface low went east but his mid-level (850/70 level) low went west over CLI this giving us copious amounts of rain Sunday. Monday added another .38” of rain giving me a total of 5.13” in total. Thank goodness he hooked west so we got dry slotted and the rains ceased or else we’d have 6-10” of rain easily!! Imagine if this were snow????

Peeps, God help anyone and all who are in this storm’s path! A CAT 4 at landfall and actually strengthen by infrared radar as she hit the land and why? Brown Ocean Effect where there is so much low land swamp that it is 30* Celsius which is 86* water is feeding her and keeping her strong.

Here is my warning – GET OUT AND FILL YOU CAR UP WITH GAS BECAUSE PRICES ARE GOING TO SKYROCKET ALA KATRINA!! Colonial has shut 2 pipelines and the refinery at Port Chalfont has suffered major damage as have some oil rigs offshore. This port is said to supply the country 18% of its oil needs!

Ida will make her way up here as a still tropical depression on Wednesday into Thursday morning and bring us 3-4” of pouring tropical rains with some winds. Right over NYC!!!!
SUN EXPLODES
We have had 3 moderate solar flares with coronal mass ejections from our life line and they are hurled at our planet. They have raised the geomagnetic level of storms and space weather to moderate and have had some effects on our satellites and communication systems. Much more to come on this and this is NOT GOOD NEWS because our shield called the magnetosphere is weak and if it keeps hitting and getting weakened by these flares a moderate flare can do some damage later on. Forget a major that would be very bad to our electrically dependent society!
