Peeps,

That famous line during the Apollo 13 mission that almost doomed those three brilliant astronauts.

Okay so 4 lest recap: 4 straight days of snow with heavy squalls as they are called at times leaving not much on the ground due to the above freezing temperatures – stinks cause if it were February we’d be (well I would) dancing in the white gold!! Thursday and Friday cold – winds were brutal for this time of year, weekend warmer relative to Thursday and Friday and now we get ready for this 2 part storm.

Problem?

Well as I wrote the Snow Queen and the newly honored Snow Princess Friday that we’d be having a monster type storm situation due to the upper air depictions by ALL weather models for 2-3 straight runs over a 36 hours period it has all started to go awry. Sorry about that but I don’t control it. It will not be a 36 – 40 hour-long duration Nor’easter of snow and winds that would cause MAJOR impacts on our area with feet of snow and damaging beach erosion and flooding. Nope it aint happening.

We are looking at Tuesday night into Wednesday for the better of the two-part storm. The first one will bring us much of nothing with snow showers.

Part two which is more Wednesday is the one that can produce an area wide snowfall that could be 3″ plus – a frickin’ FAR cry from the 1-2.5 feet the model were spitting out 3 days ago for run after run. That is what things look like at this time for NNJ and NYC as well as LI. CNJ may see 5″ plus.

What needs to happen to see more you ask? I know you didn’t but I will give  a brief explanation anyway.

We need one of two things – the 1st storm to get what is called sheared apart so the second one can say get our of my way I am coming to my boy AL Q or we need the first little pesty wave to come more north to basically set the track in plain and simple terms for the second storm to follow suite. If the 1st storm goes further south like off VA then we may see zilcho from both. If it comes more North or is sheared out then we set the stage for a much bigger second storm. Pretty complex but hopefully easy to follow – who is one first, what is on second, I don’t know……………………………..

This what could be – pretty blues!!

Updates to come.
