Winter is back and just like that we have a 30* swing in our temps from 2 pm Friday to 7AM Saturday – where are we the the Black Hills of North Dakota??

Light Snow N of NYC maybe a coating to .5″ possible
NYC on South they can see a solid 1 -3″
SNJ can see 2 to maybe 4″ – don’t ask you will only get me ……………….
Tuesday – now this can be interesting!!
We have a storm that is going to track into the Detroit region – the more it tracks east the better our chances are for frozen precipitation. Looks like a slop fest type storm for NNJ and into the LHV.
Snow: 3-4″ possible for NNJ and into the LHV
Ice – Sleet and Freezing Rain accumulations – maybe a decent amount like .25″ to .5″ of sleet and then .1 to .25″ of ice
This could be us Tuesday before the changeover to rain LOL!!

Before it changes to rain – wth is new this winter right!!!!!!!!!!!!
Timing: starts about 8-10 AM Tuesday morning through Tuesday nights commute and then it changes to rain as it is modeled now
Tuesday rush hour commute = bad!!
We have a stubborn Quebec Cold High Pressure that where it sets up and the timing of the storm all depends on how much frozen we get and when it starts/ends.
GFS – this accounts for ice so it isn’t that much snow but cut it in half basically

Lots of variable for sure and a complex system.
If the storm speeds up then we get more snow since the cold air is entrenched and if it slows down less snow and more rain.
Monday morning. – CNJ and South DO’s are on the docket
Tuesdays Storm – SC – (School Closings) are possible if not then Early Dismissals as is modeled now.
