Well you can kiss the warm weather goodbye for the rest of the week and into this weekend – may get a spike in the temp Tuesday and Wednesday and then it can get very wintry like from about the 19th/20th through the holiday time period. SAY WHAT?? Yes, you heard me from Nov 19th to about the holiday time frame and maybe the new year.

How?
Well as I will release my winter outlook later this week we have low solar activity which will help promote High Latitude blocking over the High Country – that being Siberia,, Greenland and North Pole region through our great winter friends to out North OH CANADA!!

Also, we have an easterly La Nina setting up and an Easterly QBO that also enhances the blocking pattern.

Winter Gear

The polar vortex is being attacked by these conditions as well and we are starting to see an elongation of this into Canada and Siberia. The temps will drop like a rock tonight as we go down to around freezing tomorrow morning.
Friday and Saturday MOMMA MIA it will be cold – a shock to the system ala dare I say 1995 (95-96 is the benchmark, King of all winters for NYC – it started in mid-November and ran until earl April) AL Q was a pup back then but in my frocking glory!!!

Then Tues and Wed we get a warm flow and temp rise to about 60* then we go back to a late fall pattern and wintry type pattern. Thanksgiving week we may see a significant storm if the indicators hold – snow??

WHITE GOLD!!!

Have not used that term in about 8 months now and yes we can see some flakes flying Tuesday PM and night and especially NW NJ you may just may see a coating of white gold – BOOYYYYYAHHHHHHHH BABY!!
Sunday afternoon as well and this could just could get interesting for areas in NNJ and LHV as well as NWNJ peeps. Got to keep my eye on this for maybe some minor accumulating snow and possibly some ice.
