Peeps we have a Coronal Hole facing the planet and it has caused 2 moderate to strong earthquakes thus far – Aussie Land recording their strongest EQ ever in Melbourne and a 6.4 off Chile. La Palma in the Canary Islands is puffing and giving off a spectacular show as is Etna. Some older less known puffers are rumbling and starting to show signs of life. There will be a big one within the next couple of years as we enter into this solar cycle 25.

Do not let your guard down yet peeps early October can be a tricky time of year as we have the season changing and the wavelengths in the atmosphere get longer allowing these troughs to dig and high pressure systems to anchor more over the Northern Tier at times.
SAM we will need to watch out for along the east coast, not an alarmist here just saying it is something we have to pay attention to due to the upper air pattern set up. A BIG dome of blocking high Pressure over SE Hudson Bay Canada can block a storm from heading OTS and hug the coast and if it shifts further east then it can cause the storm to head into the coast. Some scenarios so we’ll keep an eye on it. Anyone that says ahh it’s not going to affect us are the famous last word peeps who will cry me a river when it hits and they aren’t prepared.

WINTER SIGNS – paging all snow weenies, QUEEN AND PRINCESS!!
Some interesting signs are starting for this upcoming winter.
A negative QBO is where the winds HIGH up in the upper parts of the atmosphere if easterly, which they are by last reading, can cause and add in high latitude blocking to start or anchor.
The polar vortex is starting to take shape and models are showing a weak state to start winter which will mean if true colder than normal conditions to take hold and fast start to winter.
We have a WEAK La Nina forecasted and taking shape which also bodes well for a fast start to winter, La Nina is the equatorial Pacific Ocean that helps control our weather patterns.
